The VR-experience INSIDE TUMUCUMAQUE enables us to immerse ourselves into the ecosystem of the Tumucamuque Reserve Amazon rainforest, a remote expanse of ecological diversity. By slipping into the role of five animals (vampire bat, black caiman, harpy eagle, Goliath bird eater tarantula and poison dart frog) the beauty and the vulnerability of this unique ecosystem, as well as the extraordinary abilities of the creatures that live there can be explored.
The models, textures and animations of plants and living things were developed in cooperation with scientists and experts from the Berlin Museum of Natural History. The binaural sound design incorporates original sounds which were recorded on site and atmospheric acoustics developed with original animal voices to create an authentic spatial sound impression of the Amazon region.
