Women and queer people around the world continue to face restrictions on their rights, discrimination, and violence – whether through structural disadvantages, gender-based violence, or a lack of political representation. Even in countries that consider themselves progressive, FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people) are still fighting for true equality and self-determination.
8 March is an important moment to celebrate the achievements of feminist movements – but also to highlight the work that still needs to be done. At a time when anti-feminist and anti-queer narratives are growing louder and hard-won rights are being challenged, it is more important than ever to show solidarity and strengthen intersectional feminism.
To mark this occasion, we have put together a selection of documentaries that highlight the diversity of feminist struggles and share the stories of women and queer people around the world.
We hope you enjoy watching!
