The Sámi are the only remaining indigenous people in the European Union. They live in the northernmost regions of Europe, including Finland. Their existence is tied to their language, traditional knowledge and relationship to the land, which they maintain to preserve for future Sámi generations. But their rights have been trampled since industrialization and their way of life threatened by the country's business-oriented policies.
