Summer 2021. A man sits alone on an airplane. While thousands of people try to flee the crowded airport in Kabul, Danish journalist Nagieb Khaja travels to Afghanistan. These are the days of the Taliban takeover. No one knows what will happen. As the only journalist in the world to do so, Khaja travels the country – and is even initially allowed to film the Taliban euphorically celebrating their victory, splashing around like children in a swimming pool. But what happens to those who now have a lot to fear – like women fighting for their basic rights? Their fear runs deep, and Khaja feels this uncertainty as well.
