The oasis of the Sahel, Lake Chad, is not what it used to be. Since the 1960s Lake Chad has been shrinking to just 10% of its former capacity due to climate change, population growth and irrigation. This has made the 45 million people who rely on its life-sustaining water vulnerable: throughout Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon 27 million people are currently displaced as a result of the Lake Chad Basin Crisis.
In Nyasha Kadandara´s immersive 360 VR experience LE LAC we step into the lives of Mahamat, a once-wealthy pastoralist, and Nassuri, a refugee-turned-fisherman, as the lake herself hopes for their survival amidst her scattered ponds.

Due to Corona, we offer tickets for the VR exhibition in 30-minute time slots. For each project and each day of the festival (30.9.-10.10. 2020) you can purchase two tickets per following time slot:
