The Killing of a Journalist

On a cold night in February 2018, police enter a house in a Slovak village. What they find leads to the largest nationwide protests since the end of communism: investigative journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová have been murdered in cold blood. Only a few people suspect anything about the corrupt entanglements behind the crime. A young police investigator sets out to connect the chain of events and ultimately comes across an influential Slovak businessman – but indicting him is only the beginning. The story takes another unexpected turn. A secret murder file turns up, and it becomes increasingly clear that the government and the entire justice system are being shaken to their foundations.
