The political processes within the EU Parliament are based on compromises made between the twenty-seven member states and their governments. Lobbying and concrete economic interests play a major role. The Greens’ Heidi Hautala (FIN), left-wing Manon Aubry (FRA) and leading Social Democrat Lara Wolters (NLD) are passionately fighting for a sustainable directive that will require companies to exercise due diligence regarding their supply chains.
