‘Have I ever been in love? Of course I have! What do you think? The life I lead doesn't stop me from loving,’ says Delphine defiantly, almost belligerently, into the camera. The young woman from Cameroon lives in Belgium, where she is on her own, with no one by her side to help her. Delphine needs money and sees only one way to earn some. ‘I'm using what God gave me to get some money,’ she says, tying a scarf around her head before going to work. Delphine is strong and courageous. And she is just one of many young African women who are still trapped in old patterns of power abuse and colonization, with sexual exploitation as their only means of surviving in this world.
